Hi Christine

I attended Dan Roam's session at the VizThink conference recently in San Francisco. His book hadn't quite come out at that point. I like his approach. It is simple and a good exercise in boiling things down to their essence. Haven't read the book, but I imagine it's going to have a lot of good stuff based on my experience with Dan.

I am in visual communications as well. We develop tools and techniques that tap into the creative, intuitive, and strategic parts of people. All sorts of information and insight can be accessed using visuals, where as just talk often doesn't get people where they want to go.

As a marketer, you might be interested in reading our blog posts about the VizThink Challenge. A non-profit, the Artrain, asked for help with how to appoach people to become corporate and individual sponsors. Using our VisualsSpeak tool and techniques, along with 300+ people, we were able to generate a vast amount of marketing data for the Artrain.

I noticed you spend time on Cape Cod. I lived there for 25 years and moved out to Oregon about 3 years ago.

Good luck with your business.
